Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes reminds all Historic City News readers that early voting begins Monday for the November 4th General Election in St. Johns County.

Government waste is one of the most boring subjects to discuss. People automatically shut their brain off. We can talk about how the government wastes tax dollars until we’re blue in the face, but it doesn’t seem to hit close to home for people.
Historic City News convened the members of our editorial review board this morning to discuss and consider which candidates on local ballots could be recommended for election on November 4th. We realize that many readers have obtained an absentee ballot and are voting now. On next Monday, October 20, continuing through November 1, registered voters will go to the polls to vote early. Election Day is Tuesday November 4, 2014.

Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes informed Historic City News Friday that the red absentee ballot drop boxes were distributed by Elections Office staff members and are now available so voters may drop off their voted absentee ballots for the General Election.
