Visioning Town Hall comes to Galimore Center

The City of St Augustine has informed Historic City News local reporters that our readers are encouraged to attend and participate when the steering committee for the City’s visioning initiative holds a “town hall” meeting on Monday and collects feedback from residents about the work that has been done thus far.

Historic City News has confirmed that St Augustine Senator John Thrasher, Senate District 6, will be making his way to Tallahassee to accept the position of president of Florida State University, even though he just won re-election to the Florida Senate about a week ago during the General Election.

Boles’ defeat means Monday is last meeting as mayor

After losing in the General Election to Lincolnville resident, Nancy Shaver, outgoing Mayor Joe Boles will preside over his last meeting of the St Augustine City Commission Monday night, November 10, 2014. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, Historic City News was informed that there will be no second meeting of the commission in November.

Historic City News was informed today that Charlie Seraphin, the man who appeared on the city payroll in 2012, earning $70,000 a year plus benefits to augment the 450th Commemoration fundraising efforts of Dana Ste. Claire and the defunct First America Foundation before him, has been terminated.
