Letter: Hankerson not running for state legislature

Dear Editor:
After consulting with my family I have decided not to run for either the state house or senate. I have an aging mother; and, my wife, family, and I hanker to continue traveling and seeing the world as we have done.

The City of St Augustine has informed Historic City News local reporters that our readers are encouraged to attend and participate when the steering committee for the City’s visioning initiative holds a “town hall” meeting on Monday and collects feedback from residents about the work that has been done thus far.
Historic City News has confirmed that St Augustine Senator John Thrasher, Senate District 6, will be making his way to Tallahassee to accept the position of president of Florida State University, even though he just won re-election to the Florida Senate about a week ago during the General Election.

Historic City News always checks the financial reports filed by political candidates, at least the ones who successfully make it to the General Elections. A standard metric for campaign managers is their budget for each vote. We took a look at the preliminary numbers which will adjust slightly when the campaigns file their final report.
