Shift of power in Spain parallels St Augustine
Historic City News readers are asking if, four hundred and fifty years later, it is possible that politics and government in America’s oldest city, St Augustine Florida, still parallels the motherland of its founder, Pedro Menendez.


St Johns County Supervisor of Elections, Vicky Oakes, is informing Historic City News readers that any remaining new voter registrations or political party changes must be filed before the close of business today in order to apply to the upcoming January 27, 2015 election.
Historic City News will be following close to a dozen bills already filed by Florida lawmakers that would create or expand open records exemptions; keeping certain publicly available information secret.
