Despite unanswered correspondence from Historic City News and others, when St Johns County Administrator Michael Wanchick holds his three days of budget hearings next week, most taxpayers will not be able to participate in the process.

Dr. Alan W. Hodges presented the results of a study performed last year by the University of Florida, evaluating the economic impact of the St Augustine Amphitheater on St Johns County and the local economy — taking into consideration benefits and losses on factors other than just ticket sales.

Just before the close of business Thursday evening, St Johns County Commission chairman, Jay Morris, visited the Supervisor of Elections Office to file his Campaign Treasurer’s Report for April — a report worthy of close scrutiny.

Thursday evening, the City of St Augustine made good on a promise made two years ago; to include the King Street merchants and residents in the planning of any major construction affecting the US-1 entry corridor to town — and to do it well in advance of any attempt to execute those plans.
