A 33-year old St. Johns County man was arrested Monday afternoon on a charge of lewd and lascivious molestation upon a victim under the age of 12 according to a press release received by Historic City News and Media this morning from SJSO Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw.

Three St. Johns County teenagers are facing felony charges in connection with the vandalism at two northwest churches earlier this week according to a media release provided to Historic City News by St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw.

The three juveniles, each only 16-years old, face three counts of criminal mischief to a church and one count each of disturbing a grave or burial site. Both of those charges are third degree felonies. Two of the suspects also face a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief to a vehicle.

Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw announced to Historic City News that the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office is joining with hundreds of other law enforcement agencies across the country in renewing a pledge to save lives by intensifying efforts to enforce seat belt laws — among all motorists and around the clock — during the 2008 Click It or Ticket mobilization which runs through June 1.

Traffic stop leads to trafficking charges

A Thursday afternoon traffic stop by Deputy Sheriff Ryan J. Smith quickly escalated into two felony and two misdemeanor arrests when it was discovered that the driver of the vehicle was in possession of marijuana and a large amount of cocaine, according to a report filed with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

Historic City Media verified that Grady Ja’Vonne Smith is still in custody tonight in lieu of $50,900.00 bail on charges of driving while license canceled suspended or revoked, possession of cannabis – less than 20 grams, manufacturing or delivery of drug paraphernalia and trafficking in cocaine.

Juvenile molestation allegations lead to arrest

A 38-year old St. Johns County man was arrested on two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation and one count of lewd and lascivious exhibition at his home on Avenue D Thursday evening.
