  • St Augustine airport welcomes Elite Airways


    Historic City News was invited to attend this morning’s meeting and ceremonies to officially welcome the return of commercial air service at Northeast Florida Regional Airport.  Elite Airways introduced low-fare, nonstop jet service between St Augustine and New York City through Newark, New Jersey.  Fares will start at $129 each way.

    Dear Historic City News readers:

    The developer of the already huge Silverleaf development in northwest St Johns County is planning a major expansion.  Silverleaf has asked to add 5600 residential units and 2408 acres to the development, for a total of 16,300 new homes.  The “plan” also includes more than 3,000,000 square feet of commercial space.

  • Hutson, Renner, and Stevenson convene annual state legislative delegation hearing in St Augustine


    October 1st, Florida Representative Cyndi Stevenson, Paul Renner, and State Senator Travis Hutson convened the annual state legislative delegation hearing in St Augustine.   • Man arrested after threatening to murder family members


    Yesterday, Melissa Morreale, Public Affairs Officer for Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly, reported to Historic City News that Bunnell resident, 49-year-old Ronald Wright, has been arrested after he killed a family’s bird, destroyed the inside of a residence, and was threatening to kill family members.

  • City busily removing washed up, submerged, and ensnarled boats


    The City of St Augustine is continuing a project to clean up the Intracoastal Waterway of what it calls “derelict” vessels, according to an update received by Historic City News from Communications Director Melissa Wissel.  Boaters are asked to use caution in the area during this time.
