Building important to Flagler student recruitment
Flagler College informed Historic City News that they have begun construction in St Augustine on a new 12,000-square-foot, $3.8 million building to serve as the college’s Admissions and Financial Aid center as well as the first point of contact for prospective students.

Historic City News reporters watched as St Augustine City Commissioner Nancy Sikes-Kline, who dissented from the October 24 vote to make the 450th Workshops “official meetings”, found support, Monday evening, from Commissioner Bill Leary — when he moved to provide GTV broadcast of those sessions.
During the October 24th 450th workshop conducted by the City of St. Augustine, staff and commissioners listened to a presentation by Access Public Relations, a Jacksonville – Tallahassee based “public relations” firm and registered lobbyist, relevant to fund-raising for the Spanish Constitutional Monument and the 450th Commemoration.
Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Fort Mose Historic State Park guide Terri Newmans announced to local Historic City News reporters in St. Augustine that the park would host “Life in the Creek: Salt Marshes of Fort Mose” on Sunday, November 20th.
St. Augustine Republican politico Bob Smith, invited all Historic City News readers to a Town Hall meeting to hear the author of the Contract with America, Newt Gingrich, when he visits Jacksonville Landing located at 2 Independent Drive in Jacksonville.
Last night Historic City News learned that a last minute proposal has been added to the mix of potential redistricting maps being considered by the St. Johns County Commission this morning.
Purchasing Director, Joe Burch, submitted a request to declare as “surplus”, county property left behind at the Willie Galimore Recreation Center after the county withdrew from maintenance of the Lincolnville facility, which is owned by the City of St. Augustine.
