Swim at your own risk – lifeguards leave
Historic City News reporters remind our readers that with the passing of Labor Day and the end of summer, also comes the end of summer beach patrol and the protection afforded from lifeguards attending towers along our forty-two miles of pristine Atlantic beaches.





Flagler College Magazine Editor and Newspaper Adviser, Brian Thompson, met with Historic City News Editor Michael Gold and reached an accord that will help journalism students at Flagler College have their work published outside of college media, on a selected basis.
Detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Robbery-Homicide Unit are continuing to investigate a series of armed robberies to food delivery or taxi drivers that have occurred over the past year in the West Augustine area.
Ed Wuellner, Executive Director of the airport, announced to Historic City News today that the Federal Aviation Administration has awarded the Northeast Florida Regional Airport in St. Augustine a $6.19 million grant for the airport’s “Taxiway B” project.
In the last budget meeting, City officials announced their intention to cut funding pursuant to a contract made in February 2009 with former commissioner and Mayor George Gardner to write and distribute a periodic newsletter on behalf of the Department of Public Affairs.

St. Johns County Energy Efficiency Coordinator Lowry Shuler reported to Historic City News that commercial contractors and homeowners will have the opportunity to participate in a free energy efficiency workshop this evening to learn how to save money by building more efficiently.
