Supreme Court disciplines 27 attorneys

The Department of Lawyer Regulation of The Florida Bar informed local Historic City News reporters that the Florida Supreme Court has recently disciplined 27 attorneys disbarring two, revoking the licenses of four, suspending 17 and reprimanding four. Eight attorneys received additional discipline. Six had periods of probation and two were ordered to pay restitution. Disciplinary revocation is tantamount to disbarment.

Local man enters plea to charges of attempting to engage two children for sex

Historic City News was informed yesterday by the Department of Justice that a St Augustine man, 67-year-old Brian Ray Dunlap, pled guilty to attempting to entice two young children to engage in illegal sexual activity. Dunlap faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 10-years to life in federal prison and a potential life term of supervised release.
FDOT road repairs and maintenance report

Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Allen Nelson, that traffic will be impacted at the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.
Be alert to lane closures and temporary detours, as well as increased congestion in these areas. FDOT employees and contractors will be working on the roadways and need your full attention.
Fish Island wins approval for $6.5 million Florida Forever funding

It is a great day for St Augustine and St Johns County conservationists, now that the Florida Cabinet has voted to allocate $6.5 million to the North Florida Land Trust for the purchase of Fish Island; a prime parcel in St Johns County.
