Historic City News local reporters have been following growing interest from grassroots patriot groups and individual citizens concerned about the future safety of historical markers in Florida.  Some are saying that they never imagined a day could come when vigilantes would act, without authority of law, leaving a string of vandalism and destruction of centuries-old artifacts — but now, they are not so sure.

Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Allen Nelson, that traffic will be impacted at the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.

Be alert to lane closures and temporary detours, as well as increased congestion in these areas.  FDOT employees and contractors will be working on the roadways and need your full attention.

Prior to the City Commission meeting two weeks ago, Historic City News warned our readers that if St Augustine City Manager John Regan has his way, city residents will be forced to pay $459,000, or more, for a land grab on Coquina Avenue (Davis Shores) that is already underway.

During the subsequent city commission meeting, January 14th, the land grab, whose tentacles reach back to Commissioner Leanna Freeman (an attorney who lives less than 4-blocks away on South Matanzas Boulevard) and John P Regan (the city manager who lives about 2-blocks away on Solano Avenue), was presented by the Director of Public Works, Michael Cullum.

This week Florida celebrated the inauguration of Governor DeSantis and Lt. Governor Nunez. The ceremonies shared a vision for a bolder Florida. The Florida House looks forward to working with the Governor, Lt. Governor, and Florida Senate in continuing our steadfast progress of lowering taxes, creating a favorable regulatory climate, providing the best education for our children, and protecting our unique and precious natural resources. By working together to accomplish these goals, I believe Florida will look forward to an even brighter future.
