Historic City News obtained records from the Florida Department of Health this week indicating that 141 St Johns County restaurants passed their on-site inspection at the first visit during the past 30 days.

The Florida Bar, the state’s guardian for the integrity of the legal profession, announced to local Historic City News reporters that the Florida Supreme Court has disciplined Erin Rebecca Waskiewicz, a St Johns County attorney; one of 22 attorneys to be disciplined in recent court orders.  Two attorneys were ordered to pay restitution and one was given probation.  The court acted to disbar six, revoke the licenses of nine, and suspend seven.  Disciplinary revocation is tantamount to disbarment.

Governor Ron DeSantis announced to Historic City News on Tuesday that full funding is provided in what he calls his “Bolder, Brighter, Better Future Budget” for state affordable and workforce housing programs.  To applause from Florida’s housing leaders, the Governor recommends providing $387 million to the affordable housing trust funds — $119.8 million for the State Apartment Incentive Loan (SAIL) Program and $267.2 million for the State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) Program.

Historic City News learned through the Auto Club Group AAA, that the price of gasoline in Florida fell seven-cents in the past week, and 10-cents in the past 10 days, heading back below $2.40 a gallon.

Historic City News learned that the new Social Media and Marketing Director for MySky Aviation Solutions will be local resident, Danielle Ferlin.  Along with her husband, Brian, Danielle and their 1-year-old son, Beau, reside in St. Augustine.
