Eleven Southern states will observe Monday, April 26, 2021 as Confederate Memorial Day. In some of those states, the observance is called “Confederate Heroes Day” or “Confederate Decoration Day“.

OBITUARY: James Gordon Rousseau
On Wednesday, April 14, 2021, Historic City News was informed of the death of 77-year-old James Gordon Rousseau. He was born in St Augustine and proud of his Minorcan heritage. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester G. Rousseau and Frances Rousseau Fesperman, as well as a stepson, Charles Rardon.

26th Annual Gamble Rogers Music Festival delayed
On October 10, 1991, St Augustine and St Johns County lost folk musician James Gamble Rogers III. The popular 54-year-old local performer and famed storyteller, whose life and legacy has been celebrated annually during a festival in St Augustine that carries his name, features national, regional, and local musicians performing on several stages.
