Letter: The arts are a critically important part of our lives

One month ago I could not have imagined that I would be writing to you from my home office, with my teenaged son completing school in the next room, and my college senior daughter writing a thesis alone in her Oregon apartment with no hope of the graduation celebration we’d all looked forward to for so long. Life has changed dramatically for all of us.

Parents won’t need to pay into Florida Prepaid until July

As the COVID-19 pandemic challenges Florida families, officials with Florida Prepaid College Savings Plans have deferred payments for April, May, and June. The move will help longtime plan-holders and those who just signed up during the 2020 Open Enrollment Period that started on February 1st and runs through April 30th.

Looking for a Coronavirus test collection site in St Johns County

There have been a total of 1,887 COVID-19 tests administered for St Johns County. Of those, 127-patients tested positive. Of the remainder, Historic City News has learned that 1,719-patients tested negative, we are awaiting results on 41, and 1-test was inconclusive.

At about 7:53 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2020, a reported stalking victim, first told her story to a deputy sheriff investigating her complaint against local dentist, 74-year-old Clemens H. Byatt. On Wednesday, April 1, 2020, deputy Dominic Russo was again called to the residence of the victim.
