Fucci sentenced to life in prison
This morning, following a two-day hearing, local Historic City News reporters learned that 16-year-old Aiden Sean Fucci was sentenced to life in prison by Circuit Court Judge R. Lee Smith after Fucci pled guilty as an adult charged with the first-degree murder of his classmate, Tristyn Bailey.

Protection of historical monuments and memorials
In a quote attributed to George Orwell in 1984, now suffering the challenges of disputed parentage, it is said that the most effective way to destroy people is to “deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history”. As of last week, whoever can correctly claim those words does so with growing support in the Florida legislature; as Bills are briskly moving forward in both the House and Senate that will provide some degree of protection for historical monuments and memorials in the State.

Kendall announces candidacy for State Representative
On Wednesday, March 1, Kim Kendall reported to Historic City News that she has filed to run for the State Representative, District 18 seat which encompasses northern St. Johns County. Kendall is a conservative Republican who puts God, family, and liberty first. Representative Cyndi Stevenson currently holds the seat but reaches her term limit next year.

Obituary: Henry Frederick Green Jr
Historic City News learned last week of the passing of former St Johns County Commission chairman, Fred Green. He died on February 21st at the age of 95. Fred was born on August 2, 1927, in Wilmington, Delaware to Henry F Green, Sr, and Edith Shallcross Green.

A new low-cost airline wants to bring passenger service to St Augustine
Today, a special meeting of the St Johns County Airport Authority might signal the return of commercial air service at the Northeast Florida Regional Airport, according to details received by Historic City News this morning. The five-member board will decide whether to pursue contract negotiations with another low-cost carrier that wants to bring passenger service to St Augustine.
