Flagler College president Bill Abare announces retirement
Dr. William Tebbs Abare, Jr., will turn 74-years-old on August 2nd, and he told Historic City News reporters today that he has deliberated long and hard and decided that “the timing is right” to announce that he will turn over the duties of Flagler College president effective July 30, 2017.






The ending that many expected, but held out hope against confirming, was revealed tonight when St Johns County Sheriff David Shoar announced to Historic City News and the media that the body of 71-year-old retired priest, Fr. Rene Robert, was recovered in Burke County, Georgia.






Debbie Delgado reported the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations to Historic City News where the Florida Department of Transportation will be conducting roadwork that is expected to have an impact on driving, beginning this morning and continuing through the coming week.
Frontier Airlines begins new non-stop service to two destinations today in St. Augustine. The carrier will begin non-stop flights to Chicago-O’Hare and Philadelphia. Flights to Chicago operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to Philadelphia operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
