The Public Affairs office of the Florida National Guard reported the following updates to Historic City News this afternoon.

Historic City News reported today at 12:00 p.m. (noon) that the St John County Emergency Operations Center is operating at Level 1; resulting in full-time 24-hour operations in response to Hurricane Dorian, according to Kelly Wilson, spokesperson for St. Johns County Emergency Management.

St. Johns County Emergency Management media liaison Kelly Wilson reported today’s Situation Report update to Historic City News, regarding Hurricane Dorian.  The next Situation Report will be issued tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. unless conditions dictate an earlier report.

Faced with a major hurricane that still could land anywhere on Florida’s east coast, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Thursday he has expanded his emergency declaration to all 67 counties.

After this morning’s arrest of a 14-year-old boy who lives with his parents on Rosecroft Lane in Palm Coast, Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staley reported to Historic City News that parents need to take a second look at the social media accounts being used by their children.

As part of the reconstruction improvements on San Marco Avenue, Historic City News readers will notice a change in traffic patterns on Wednesday, August 21st when traveling westbound on May Street from Vilano Beach.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office reported to Historic City News on Friday afternoon that a former Flagler County physician, 59-year-old Florence Fruehan, pled “no-contest” to a negotiated charge of battery against a person 65-years-old, or older.

At about 10:44 this morning, St Augustine police officers were called to a shooting reported in the area of Vicker’s Park located at 399 Riberia Street.  Upon arrival, officers noticed a black male victim on the ground with a gunshot wound to his back.
