Morning shooting on Riberia Street under investigation

Within the last hour, Historic City News learned of a shooting with injuries near the Willie Galimore Center on the south end of Riberia Street.  The Galimore Community Center is currently on lockdown with children inside as police search for the accused gunman.

The Florida Department of Transportation reported to Historic City News that repairs have been completed on the southbound, outside lane of Interstate 95 at mile marker 298 after a major fire this morning that required detours and closed traffic at times through the day Wednesday.

Local man enters plea to charges of attempting to engage two children for sex

Historic City News was informed yesterday by the Department of Justice that a St Augustine man, 67-year-old Brian Ray Dunlap, pled guilty to attempting to entice two young children to engage in illegal sexual activity.  Dunlap faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 10-years to life in federal prison and a potential life term of supervised release.

St. Johns County Emergency Management has notified Historic City News of an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for East-central St Johns County.  Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms, with rainfall rates over 4 inches per hour. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area.

In the last hour, Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly informed Historic City News that 17-year-old Elijah Rizvan of Palm Coast was shot and killed just before 8:30 p.m. last night.  Nearby areas in the W-Section are being actively processed by crime scene investigators.
