Sandra Miles named VP of Student Affairs at Flagler College

Dr. Joseph G. Joyner reported to Historic City News today the appointment of Dr. Sandra Miles to Flagler College as the new Vice President of Student Affairs. Her start date at Flagler will be July 15.  She will replace Dan Stewart, who decided to step down as Vice President of Student Services earlier this year and will assume a new position as Administrator on Special Assignment.

Former presidential candidate Ross Perot dies at 89

Historic City News was informed that earlier this morning, 89-year-old Ross Perot, the colorful Texas billionaire businessman who ran for president as a third-party candidate in 1992 and 1996, died at his home in Dallas.

Perot, who had been battling leukemia, was surrounded by family members when he died; according to a statement published this morning.

Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Allen Nelson, that traffic will be impacted at the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.

Be alert to lane closures and temporary detours, as well as increased congestion in these areas.  FDOT employees and contractors will be working on the roadways and need your full attention.
