City Manager John Regan recently told City Commissioners that thirty-two residential structures suffered some type of flooding damage during Hurricane Dorian. There was flooding throughout St. Augustine; but, most of the damage occurred in South Davis Shores where Regan and Commissioner Leanna Freeman reside.

Early yesterday morning at about 1:40 a.m., St Augustine Police reported to Historic City News that they were called to the area of 70 Hypolita Street to investigate a stabbing.

Ponte Vedra Beach resident, 63-year-old Robert H Hendricks, has been indicted on twelve counts of wire fraud, according to a report received by Historic City News this morning.

Although last month’s public meeting was cancelled due to Hurricane Dorian, those in city government who wholeheartedly believe that they know what’s best for businesses and residents in St Augustine, have rescheduled time for community stakeholders to attend and participate in a discussion of their concerns — for two-hours between 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Allen Nelson, that traffic will be impacted at the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.

St. Johns County Emergency Management notified local Historic City News reporters that they are participating in conference calls with the Florida Division of Emergency Management and National Weather Service – Jacksonville as they closely monitor the development of a potential tropical cyclone impacting our area.
