Activists invited to learn about fighting government pensions

A training workshop will be presented by Taxpayers United of America this Saturday, March 7th, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., and Historic City News readers interested in educating themselves on the perils of government pensions, and what they can do on the local level to fight against them, are invited to attend the statewide event.




Historic City News has learned that a former construction inspector, employed by St Johns County, pled guilty in federal court yesterday to extortion of local businesses who were the subject of his inspections — he now faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison.
Historic City News recognizes that no commemoration of St Augustine’s 450-year history would be complete without recognizing the many skills of the women of the community.
The St. Augustine Art Association announced to Historic City News in partnership with St. Johns County Schools, that together they will present the 10th Annual All-County High School Art Show, March 6 – 29, in their gallery at 22 Marine Street.
