Historic City News learned that St Johns County deputies responded on Saturday evening, April 11, 2020, to the scene of an individual who was burned in an apparent arson at a southwest district apartment complex.
Pursuant to Section 403.077, F.S., the Florida Department of Environmental Protection informed local Historic City News reporters that they have received the following Public Notice of Pollution for a reportable release that occurred within St Johns County. The DEP Incident ID is 5131.
There have been a total of 1,887 COVID-19 tests administered for St Johns County. Of those, 127-patients tested positive. Of the remainder, Historic City News has learned that 1,719-patients tested negative, we are awaiting results on 41, and 1-test was inconclusive.
At about 7:53 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2020, a reported stalking victim, first told her story to a deputy sheriff investigating her complaint against local dentist, 74-year-old Clemens H. Byatt. On Wednesday, April 1, 2020, deputy Dominic Russo was again called to the residence of the victim.
In response to the impacts of COVID-19 in St Johns County, Administrator Hunter S Conrad announced to Historic City News and our subscribers that County Government is taking additional measures to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of our community. St. Johns County Emergency Management updated Historic City News informing local reporters that the School District has cancelled all field trips and events through the end of the school year.
The coach of the girl’s flag football team at St Augustine High School, 38-year-old Darrell Andrew Crews, was arrested on a sex offense Sunday night at about 9:08 p.m. He was taken into custody by the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office at his home reported to be 329 Gianna Way in St Augustine. He was released yesterday after posting a $1,500 bond.
St. Johns County is the latest county to record a fatality due to COVID-19. The Florida Department of Health issued its 11:00 a.m. update to Historic City News this morning, where we found that Northeast Florida added another death to the running count of fatalities caused by the coronavirus.
