The coach of the girl’s flag football team at St Augustine High School, 38-year-old Darrell Andrew Crews, was arrested on a sex offense Sunday night at about 9:08 p.m. He was taken into custody by the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office at his home reported to be 329 Gianna Way in St Augustine. He was released yesterday after posting a $1,500 bond.

At about 8:00 p.m. last night, Historic City News was informed by Florida Highway Patrol Troop G that a hit-and-run crash occurred on Old Moultrie Road in St Johns County. According to Trooper Brandon Elder, the unknown driver fled the scene; last seen traveling northbound on Old Moultrie Road.

The Citizens Information Line will be open to assist residents with questions and concerns at 904-824-5550. Hours of Operations will be 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., 7 days a week.

Meanwhile, officials reported to Historic City News that world-famous South Beach had been closed to prevent college spring breakers from congregating.

In the past hour, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office has reported that officers are on the scene of an extended crash of a semi-tractor trailer against a passenger vehicle that has resulted in a fatality.
