The Florida Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin a safety project to install lighting along SR-16 from CR-16A to San Marco Avenue this Monday, April 8, weather and circumstances permitting.

Historic City News was informed this morning that shortly after midnight, police responded to the No Name Bar located at 16 South Castillo Drive after receiving a report of gunshots heard at the location.

Charges are pending, along with a determination of whether alcohol played a role, in last night’s two-vehicle crash on US-1 at Datil Pepper Road. Two drivers and two passengers were rushed to Flagler Hospital for emergency medical treatment. One of the passengers was a one-year-old child, the other less than one-year-old. One driver was killed.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office informed local Historic City News reporters Wednesday morning that they had obtained felony arrest warrants against 18 different persons for various drug dealing charges. Investigations that led to the
narcotics-related warrants were the result of numerous undercover operations.

The Florida Department of Health in St Johns County reported to Historic City News this week that for the eighth year in a row, St Johns County is ranked first in Florida in both Health Outcomes and Health Factors in the national 2019 County Health Rankings Report.

Florida Highway Patrol District Lieutenant Aaron Stephens reported to Historic City News that a truck-vs-pedestrian crash this morning at about 6:54 a.m. has left the driver of the truck uninjured but the pedestrian died at the hospital.

Historic City News was informed by local police that a felony search warrant was executed yesterday morning at about 6:00 a.m. by members of the St Augustine Police Special Response Team and the Investigations Unit at a residence located at 101 West Carver Street on Anastasia Island.
