In a summary of orders issued during the past month, between April 25 – May 23, 2019, Historic City News was informed by the Florida Bar, that the Florida Supreme Court disciplined a total of 16 attorneys – disbarring six, revoking the licenses of three and suspending seven. Disciplinary revocation is tantamount to disbarment.
Just after 5:00 p.m. this evening, the grandmother of 15-month-old Oliver Kevin Aitken was booked into the St Johns County Detention Facility after she told police that she placed methadone from another person’s prescription into the child’s prescribed allergy medication bottle, then unknowingly gave it to her grandchild.
Historic City News was notified that a traffic crash Thursday afternoon on Racetrack Road and Veterans Parkway, has crews still working to get the intersection back in order.

St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office SWAT and Special Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at 4675 Sixth Avenue last Wednesday May 22 at about 8:00 a.m.
On May 23, 2019 at approximately 9:30 a.m., Historic City News was notified that the St. Augustine Police Investigations Unit served a search warrant at Smitty’s Internet Cafe, located at 311 Anastasia Boulevard.
Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Allen Nelson, that traffic will be impacted at the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.
